Urgent Care vs. Emergency Care

Urgent care centers are designed for illnesses and injuries that require medical attention, but are not life-threatening. Urgent Care is a good place to receive care after hours, holidays or whenever your primary care provider isn’t available.

Go to urgent care for:

  • Bladder infections
  • Bug bites or small animal bites
  • Coughs, congestion and sinus problems
  • Ear infections
  • Mild fevers
  • Minor burns
  • Pink eye or other minor eye problems
  • Rashes
  • Sprains or minor injuries
  • Throat pain

These are just a few of the conditions and symptoms that qualify as medical emergencies:

  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Sudden or severe pain
  • Coughing or vomiting blood
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Sudden dizziness, weakness or changes in vision
  • Difficulty speaking, altered mental status of confusion
  • Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea
  • Serious burns
  • Vaginal bleeding with pregnancy
